If you love history then Dubai is not just about breathtaking modern architecture and flashing lights, because you can roll up your sleeves and really immerse yourself in history.

Al Fahidi was built in the early 20th century but it is a stark contrast to the Dubai that you might know. Once you venture into the area, you will feel as though you have been whisked back in time, but it is the ideal way to learn about the city. You will find the Dubai Museum here, as well as the oldest building in the city. Stick with the town and you will find the Coffee Museum, where you can learn about the coffee culture in the area as well as how it is made. If you want to become a part of Dubai then this could be the place to start!

 

Take your kids to the Aquaventure Waterpark or Legoland Dubai

Aquaventure Waterpark is now the world’s largest waterpark and should not be missed if you’re looking for a fun day out. Not only are there a multitude of slides, rides and lagoons, but there are also opportunities for up-close-and-personal interactions with stingrays, dolphins, and sea lions.

Another option for younger families is Legoland Dubai with 60 interactive rides and 15,000 Lego models. Many of the attractions are indoors so you can escape the heat and enjoy them all year round.

 

Enjoy horse racing in Dubai

If horseracing is your thing, then the Dubai World Cup is a massive event that takes place at the end of the horse racing season at the Meydan Racecourse, with horses arriving from all over the world. Although you cannot bet at the track, entry is reasonable and in the evening you can enjoy the festival atmosphere and witness the annual competition for the fashion style stakes.

 

Relax with a BBQ on the beaches in Dubai

Who doesn’t love a day at the beach when the sun is shining and the water looks as inviting as it does in Dubai? Fortunately, life in Dubai is enhanced by the wonderful beaches on offer. Jumeirah Beach Park is one of the most popular beaches, fully landscaped with plenty of facilities.

There are areas to relax and have a BBQ, and the Arabian Gulf opens up in front of you and invites you to take a dip.  If you are someone who loves nothing more than spending time soaking up the sun, Al Mamzar Beach Park offers a similar experience.

If you are a fan of wildlife then you are going to love spotting the pink flamingos at Djijbouti’s Lake Abbe or the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. This was put in place in 1985 in order to protect the wildlife but you will find pink flamingos here during the winter. It is a great place to spend time outdoors and away from the city because you sometimes need to have a break and escape it all, despite how alluring Dubai really is!

 

Become a Food Lover

You will find cuisines from every corner of the earth and that is what makes Dubai so appealing. Whether it is Chinese, Indian or authentic English dishes, you will find everything you need in Dubai. Indulge yourself at the Dubai Marina
